As other's have said, there can be some issues with repo'd cars. A lot of the owners have known they would be losing the car and either run them to death or damage them out of spite. I haven't heard of someone being pursued by a previous owner.

you can simply save by the make model and color of your car…

For example…a red, ford mustand V8 is going to be crazy rates when compared to a white hyundai elantra…

Big insurance hikes are due to:

Color: mostly red, and otehr bright, agressive colors…lkike yellow for example…

engine: a v8 gets makes your insurance higher than a v6

model: a sports car or car that may be "commonly used in agressive driving" such as mustangs camaros etc… cause rates to be higher…

also…

if you have a good driving history that will lower your rates, no accidents, tickets, etc…

different insurance companies will charge different ammounts. I will go on a limb and assume that when they advertise saving $500.00 or more, that 500$ is basically the limit, and those instances are more rare than they make you think…all advertising strategy with hints of truth so as not to get clobbered for "false advertising"
